Michael Saylor, executive chairman of Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, announced on X that the company’s bitcoin holdings increased by 6,220 BTC, resulting in a year-to-date yield of 20.8 percent for 2025.

"Strategy has acquired 6,220 BTC for ~$739.8 million at ~$118,940 per bitcoin and has achieved BTC Yield of 20.8% YTD 2025," said Michael Jerry Saylor. "As of 7/20/2025, we hodl 607,770 $BTC acquired for ~$43.61 billion at ~$71,756 per bitcoin."

According to Reuters, the year 2025 has experienced a surge in large-scale corporate Bitcoin acquisitions. Renewed U.S. regulatory clarity and ongoing economic uncertainty have driven companies like Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), Tesla, and major asset managers to expand their Bitcoin holdings. These firms view bitcoin as both a hedge against inflation and a strategic treasury reserve.

As reported by Strategy’s official filings, by July 2025 the company holds approximately 226,000 bitcoins acquired at an average price of $33,600 per BTC. This brings its total investment to over $7.6 billion and secures the largest publicly held bitcoin treasury position globally.

According to The Block, Strategy’s bitcoin portfolio has yielded significant unrealized gains in 2025. With BTC up about 54% year-to-date, the company’s holdings have achieved a higher return compared to the average market performance for bitcoin over the same period.

As detailed by Forbes, Michael Saylor is an American entrepreneur who co-founded Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) in 1989. He currently serves as Executive Chairman and has gained global recognition for leading the company’s bitcoin acquisition strategy and advocating for bitcoin as a primary treasury asset.
