Binance has announced an update to collateral ratios for PM Pro assets under Portfolio Margin, set to take place on September 16 and 19, 2025. This will be followed by adjustments to leverage and margin tiers for USDⓈ-M Perpetual Contracts. The announcement was made through a press release.
According to the official Binance announcement published on September 11, 2025, the collateral ratio updates took effect on September 16 and September 19 at 6 a.m. UTC, with each update lasting approximately 30 minutes. The changes impacted both "Portfolio Margin" and "PM Pro" tiers, adjusting the base collateral ratio for some assets as well as the tiered collateral ratio, which varies by position size. Traders with affected assets were advised that existing positions would be impacted and should reassess their risk exposure, as collateral requirements may have increased or decreased.
On September 16, assets under Portfolio Margin experienced increases in collateral ratios: WLD’s ratio rose from 50% to 60%, and BIO’s from 20% to 30%. Under PM Pro, collateral tier floors and caps for certain assets like XRP and DOGE were modified. For example, the 100% collateral ratio tier for XRP and DOGE, which previously applied to positions up to one million USDT (United States Dollar Tether), was expanded to cover positions up to three million USDT. Additionally, collateral tiers for larger position sizes saw lower ratios, reducing collateral requirements at higher notional amounts.
