Binance announced that it will airdrop up to $1,500,000 in BNB to users residing in regions severely impacted by the flooding from Storm Boris in Central Europe. This initiative is part of Binance Charity's response to the disaster.
User identification for the airdrop will rely on Proof of Address (POA) submitted by September 18, 2024, confirming residency in the severely impacted regions of Poland, Romania, and Czechia. Each eligible user will receive $50 in BNB, according to a press release by Binance.
According to Kyrylo Khomyakov, Binance's general manager for Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, "The impact of flooding in Poland, Czech Republic, and Romania has been devastating, destroying homes, possessions and, sadly, taking lives. We are aiming to bring some support to those affected. We hope that our users who receive these donations can put them to best use locally, whether for the needs of themselves or their loved ones or for the local communities where it is needed most."
