Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), announced that the company has continued to increase its Bitcoin holdings and reported a strong year-to-date yield, reinforcing its leadership in corporate cryptocurrency investment. The statement was made on X.

"Strategy has acquired 21,021 BTC for ~$2.46 billion at ~$117,256 per bitcoin and has achieved BTC Yield of 25.0% YTD 2025," said Michael Jerry Saylor. "As of 7/29/2025, we hodl 628,791 $BTC acquired for ~$46.08 billion at ~$73,277 per bitcoin."

According to CNBC, large-scale Bitcoin acquisitions among U.S. public companies have accelerated since 2020, with firms like Strategy and Tesla buying significant Bitcoin reserves as a hedge against inflation and to diversify treasury assets. This trend has driven increased institutional acceptance of Bitcoin and prompted closer regulatory attention, reflecting the cryptocurrency’s growing legitimacy in corporate finance.

According to Strategy’s investor relations, as of July 2024, the company holds approximately 226,331 Bitcoin acquired at a total cost of about $8.33 billion, with the current market value now exceeding $13 billion following Bitcoin’s price appreciation. Strategy remains the world’s largest public company holder of Bitcoin, regularly disclosing ongoing purchases.

As reported by CoinGecko, Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings are far larger than other public companies, with Tesla holding roughly 10,500 Bitcoin and Coinbase about 9,500 as of mid-2024. Although funds like Grayscale control more Bitcoin overall, Strategy’s direct ownership and investment scale make it unique among corporate players globally.

According to Forbes, Michael Saylor is the Executive Chairman and co-founder of Strategy, known for leading the company’s pivot to a Bitcoin-focused strategy in 2020 and becoming a leading voice for corporate cryptocurrency adoption. Saylor co-founded the company in 1989, served as CEO for over three decades, and has influenced the growing trend of corporate Bitcoin accumulation.

According to Strategy’s official website, the company was founded in 1989 as MicroStrategy, specializing in business analytics software before rebranding in 2024 and shifting its mission to combine enterprise analytics with Bitcoin technology. The company’s new strategy centers on supporting Bitcoin’s development and using it as a core corporate asset.
