Georg Brameshuber, a crypto advisor, said that cryptocurrency is more than just money; Bitcoin represents financial "sovereignty," with some countries embracing it while others resist its influence. Brameshuber made his statement in a February 14 post on X.
"Crypto isn't just money," said Brameshuber, crypto advisor and co-founder of Validvent. "Memecoins turn attention into liquidity. Bitcoin is financial sovereignty. Some countries are using it to their advantage. Others are resisting it."
According to CryptoSlate, the Trump administration’s crypto working group is assessing the creation of a U.S. Bitcoin reserve and developing a regulatory framework for stablecoins and digital assets. The group, led by David Sacks, is collaborating with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to clarify oversight responsibilities. The Clarity for Payment Stablecoins Act of 2024 proposes regulations for stablecoin issuance and reserve requirements. Additionally, the SEC has launched a crypto task force, led by Commissioner Hester Peirce, to address regulatory issues related to digital assets.
