Minister Chappaz praised the initiative as a "great initiative" in enhancing France's influence and presence in the global AI landscape. She also commended the leadership of Consul General Florian, noting that his talents were playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of the AI ecosystem in the Bay Area.

"Insightful discussion on access to data and compute, evaluation, adoption and education," Chappaz said on X. "Thanks for sharing and looking forward to keeping in touch!"

Chappaz, who took office in September 2024, brings a wealth of experience from the tech industry. Before her appointment as Minister, she held senior roles at La French Tech and served as Chief Business and Growth Officer at Vestiaire Collective. Her leadership in the French tech ecosystem, coupled with her advanced education at Harvard Business School and Sciences Po Paris, positions her as a key figure in advancing France’s global competitiveness in technology and innovation.

The inauguration also comes on the heels of an exciting announcement from OpenAI, the world’s largest artificial intelligence company, which revealed plans to establish a new base in Paris. This move further underscores the growing importance of France as a hub for AI research, development, and collaboration.
