Marina Ferrari, France’s Secretary of State for Digital Affairs, stated that the annual Viva Technology (VivaTech) conference in Paris enables French politicians to engage with the country’s technological sector. Ferrari shared her statement in a May 23 post.

“To never pit innovation against regulation and support the startups that make us proud internationally, #VivaTech is also THE place where our parliamentarians can interact with our tech ecosystem,” said Ferrari. “Happy to have been able to invite them to this 2024 edition.”

According to the conference’s website, more than 165,000 individuals attended this year’s VivaTech conference, which took place from May 22 to 25 in Paris. Ferrari was a featured speaker at the conference, alongside Elon Musk, Chief AI Scientist at Meta Yann LeCun, Baidu Founder Robin Li, former US Secretary of State John Kerry, and French Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire. The goal of the conference is to accelerate innovation by connecting major corporations, startups, investors, and other stakeholders who are seeking to respond to global challenges.

Next year’s conference will take place from June 11 to 14, according to VivaTech’s website.

According to the European Union, as Secretary of State for Digital Affairs, Ferrari is involved with policies related to strengthening digital skills and technology adoption. She is also responsible for preparing and coordinating France’s “digital transformation” policies.
