CoinFlip, a cryptocurrency platform, announced it has appointed Jed Roffers as its first law enforcement relations director, a newly created role intended to coordinate with law enforcement agencies and support consumer protection efforts.
According to a blog post by CoinFlip, the new position will serve as the company’s point of contact to deepen collaboration and enhance relationships with law enforcement agencies worldwide, spanning local, state, and federal levels. CoinFlip described this hire as part of its strategy to work “efficiently and effectively” across agencies to help protect consumers as cryptocurrency adoption grows.
In its announcement, CoinFlip said that it operates the world’s largest network of cryptocurrency kiosks by transaction volume, with more than 5,500 kiosks globally. The company explained that its cash-to-crypto kiosks are designed to make buying and selling major cryptocurrencies accessible for consumers who prefer using cash alongside other services on its platform.
The Cryptocurrency Anti-Fraud Education (CAFE) Association recently announced that CoinFlip joined as one of its first founding industry members. The partnership is positioned around “trust, transparency, and strengthened consumer protection” in cryptocurrency. CAFE focuses on consumer education campaigns, research and analysis on fraud protection trends, and best-practice frameworks aimed at preventing crypto fraud and boosting consumer confidence.
