Binance has announced an adjustment to the tick size for MYXUSDT, IPUSDT, and IPUSDC USDⓈ-M Perpetual Futures. The change, effective September 10, 2025, at 12:15 UTC, will see the tick size shift from 0.0001 to 0.001. This move aims to enhance liquidity and improve the trading experience, according to a press release.
According to Binance’s announcement, this update is intended to boost market liquidity and smooth price changes for traders. It specifically applies to certain USDⓈ-M Perpetual Futures contracts without altering general USDⓈ-M futures trading operations. Existing orders placed before the update will continue using the old tick size and will be matched accordingly.
The adjustment means that price quotes for these contracts will now move in increments of 0.001 units instead of 0.0001. This reduces granularity and may decrease micro-price noise. Binance also noted that API users can verify the updated tick sizes through the GET /fapi/v1/exchangeInfo endpoint.
Binance clarified that existing orders will remain unaffected by this update; any orders submitted before 12:15 UTC on September 10 will still be matched under the previous tick size of 0.0001. The new tick size will apply only to new orders placed after this time. Additionally, API clients and algorithmic traders are advised to adjust their trading strategies—such as pricing, spreads, and order placement—to accommodate the coarser tick size.
According to Binance’s corporate profile, founded in 2017, it has become one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges globally by trading volume. It offers a wide range of products including derivative and futures trading worldwide with an ecosystem encompassing spot trading, staking, margin trading, portfolio margining among others. Updates like these are part of Binance’s ongoing efforts to refine contract specifications for improved usability, liquidity, and market efficiency.
