Binance Charity has announced a commitment of $245,000 to provide urgent aid and direct financial support to communities affected by recent floods and landslides in Sumatra, Indonesia.
According to Reuters, late-November 2025 storms caused catastrophic flooding and landslides across Sumatra, leading to large-scale rescue and recovery operations. The death toll has reportedly exceeded 1,000, with hundreds still missing. Reconstruction costs are estimated in the billions as authorities work on temporary housing, road repairs, and restoring power and clean water systems.
Binance Charity has pledged USD 245,000 (approximately IDR 4 billion) for relief efforts in Sumatra. Of this amount, USD 170,000 is allocated to the Indonesian Red Cross for distributing essential supplies to displaced families. An additional USD 75,000 will be provided through direct Binance Coin (BNB) airdrops to affected Binance users. Eligible users who completed Know Your Customer (KYC) verification with proof of address by December 3, 2025, are expected to receive funds in their Spot Wallets by December 23, 2025.
In response to severe flooding in Southern Thailand, Binance Charity announced a donation of USD 200,000 (approximately 6.4 million THB) to the Thai Red Cross Society. This contribution aims to support emergency relief efforts including food distribution, medical supplies provision, and temporary shelter arrangements through Red Cross volunteers assisting displaced families during ongoing recovery efforts.

It has aided over two million people across more than 54 countries using blockchain technology for transparent and direct giving.
