Athena Bitcoin has launched a redesigned version of its mobile app, aiming to provide users with faster access to Bitcoin purchases, exclusive rewards, and an improved overall experience. The new Athena app introduces features intended for both experienced cryptocurrency users and newcomers.

According to the company, app users will have access to special promotional codes and bonuses that are not available at Athena’s ATMs. These offers include percentage discounts on trading fees and time-sensitive deals, which are displayed directly on the home screen for easy access.

The updated app also integrates a location feature that helps users find the nearest Athena Bitcoin ATM using Google Maps directions. This aims to make it easier for customers to locate kiosks quickly.

Users can now view their complete transaction history within the app, check the status of pending transactions in real-time, and see detailed breakdowns such as received Bitcoin amounts, fees, exchange rates, and network information. Transactions can also be viewed directly on the blockchain for increased transparency.

Security enhancements include one-time password (OTP) sign-in via text message. The company states this method is both faster and more secure than traditional passwords.

The new “My Account” section allows users to manage personal information, update phone numbers instantly, adjust push notification settings, and log out securely from one centralized hub.

Athena Bitcoin says that additional features are planned for future updates. These will include in-app KYC verification, starting transactions from a mobile device before reaching an ATM, and sending remittance transactions with full tracking capabilities in transaction history.

The Athena app is now available for free download on iOS and Android platforms.

“Think of the new Athena app as your personal Bitcoin companion. Whether you’re a seasoned crypto enthusiast or just getting started, we’ve built features that make buying Bitcoin easier, more rewarding, and more convenient than ever,” said the company in its announcement.

“We didn’t just add features—we reimagined the entire app experience. The new home screen gives you everything that matters most at a glance: featured promotions, nearby locations, and your recent transactions. It’s designed to be intuitive, fast, and beautiful.”

“We’re just getting started. Soon you’ll be able to: Complete KYC verification directly in the app; Start transactions from your phone before you even reach the ATM; Send remittance transactions with full tracking in your transaction history.”
